Just wait for 2012 Knicks

This New York-Boston series was really over before it began but kudos to the Knicks for hanging in tough for the first two games in Boston. In reality the Knicks really outplayed the Celtics in both games but their typical blunders, mental lapses, and overall lack of execution has really cut them below the knees. It would be nice to see them get at least 1 win at the Garden, which will surely be roaring with excitement over the first playoff game in 7 years, but in the end the Knicks just aren't ready for this stage.
The fact that Jared Jeffries is a professional basketball player is insulting

We have seen both our stars, Amare and Melo, step up as well as fall down throughout the course of the first two games. Amare's descent is really no fault of his own, just painful back spasms. Melo on the other hand has me scratching my head. He plays terrible in game 1 and forces up a terrible shot to end the game. Then he plays out of his mind in the second game and passes up on a shot opportunity (deferring to the incompetent Jeffries) at the end of the game and then completely forgets to guard Delonte West on the last possession when the Knicks desperately needed to foul. Melo can't be content with a historic double-double performance. A true winner plays from start to finish, without any lapse.

At the end of the day its tough to blame the Knicks players. They aren't as talented as the Celtics and they are drastically over matched in the coaching department. It is D'antoni's responsibility to get this team mentally prepared and they rarely are. It was as if they didn't know that the Celtics could pass the ball into the back court on the last possession and D'antoni must shoulder at least half the blame for Melo's blunder. The team's almost blatant disregard for defense is insulting as a fan especially when we see how much commitment Boston puts into that part of the game on a nightly basis.

Finally, Jared Jeffries. When a player puts up a layup with the "please go in please go in" look in his eyes... its time for him to go. Jared Jeffries has more passes go off his hands than the fat kid at recess. He was so scared to get the last pass from Melo that his brain shut down and he just let go of the ball, hoping it would somehow evade Garnett and end of in Walker's hands...which of course it  did not. I know the Knicks were desperate and brought him in to be an active presence on the defensive end but at 6-9 there is only so much he can do. The Knicks will never been a winning team when the likes of Jared Jeffries and Ronny Turiaf are your centers. In short...D'antoni and Jeffries will be the first casualties of defeat this off-season. Lets enjoy these next few games at MSG if we can but next year is the real decisive year for the New York Knicks.

Cowboys 2011 schedule released

Here is the Cowboys 2011 schedule...

Sept. 11 at NY Jets, 7:20 p.m. NBC
Sept. 18 at San Francisco, 3:05 p.m.
Sept. 26 vs. Washington, 7:30 p.m. ESPN
Oct. 2 vs. Detroit, Noon
Oct. 9 Bye
Oct. 16 at New England, 3:15 p.m.
Oct. 23 vs. St. Louis, 3:15 p.m.
Oct. 30 at Philadelphia, 7:20 p.m. NBC
Nov. 6 vs. Seattle, Noon
Nov. 13 vs. Buffalo, Noon
Nov. 20 at Washington, Noon
Nov. 24 vs. Miami, 3:15 p.m.
Dec. 4 at Arizona, 3:15 p.m.
Dec. 11 vs. NY Giants, 7:20 p.m. NBC
Dec. 17 at Tampa Bay, 7:20 p.m. NFL Network
Dec. 24 vs. Philadelphia, 3:15 p.m.
Jan. 1 at NY Giants, Noon

This is (on paper) the easiest schedule the Cowboys have played in recent memory. Obviously the division games are tough and New York and New England are formidable opponents but we get the NFC West which is essentially a glorified CFL division or just a joke of an NFL one.  We also get TB and Detroit who should be strong teams but not necessarily frightening.

I love starting off with the Jets...Rex vs Rob Ryan. Garrett will have the perfect chance to prove that he is one of the brightest young coaches in the league who can let his teams play do the talking as opposed to the mealymouthed Rex. It will be an emotional night for New York because of the 10 year anniversary of 9/11 but perhaps this over excitement will work in the Cowboys favor. Either way...the Jets can come get some.

Just one more quick thought...how come the Cowboys prime time schedule is always so monotonous? Always those 3 division games on national TV. How about we get the old rivals, San Francisco on prime time instead of the ever-failing Redskins. Just a thought.

What were you thinking: Lebron James' mom

Damn Gloria James...if you were my mom I'd have to punch you in the face. Actually scratch that...since you already banged out one of my retarded ex-teammates I would have already cut you off completely in every possible way so I wouldn't do anything but shake my head and laugh when I heard your dumb ass got arrested for being a drunk who tried to attack a parking valet. If I'm the valet I'm going after the James family for every dollar I can get. Her long nails had to have scratched something that can hold up in court.

Delonte West...He's so special
But let's get back to Gloria James banging out Delonte West. How did that even go down? Actually its pretty simple. Gloria James was hammered drunk (as usual...she was arrested for drunk driving in 2006 also) and she was being her whorish self. Delonte West probably wasn't drunk but is so retarded (literally) that it was like any of us being blacked out enough to think its okay to bone our friend/teammates ugly mother. I cant wait for Gloria James to have Delonte's baby...he will have a few misaligned chromosomes for sure...most likely will come out of her gaper smelling like Jim Beam and wont ever learn to read.

As if Lebron and the Heat didn't have enough pressure and expectations on them heading into the playoffs now Lebron is going to have to field 1,000 questions about his embarrassment of a mother. Tough spot there guy.

Doc does surgery on Mets

I don't think anyone is surprised that Doc Halladay went out and completely obliterated the Mets putting up 7 innings of doughnuts but I am surprised at how poorly Jonathan Niese pitched. I thought the young left-hander would have at least some mild success against the Phillies but clearly he was not sharp today.

Hopefully this won't affect him or the Mets moving forward as they return to New York for the home opener against the Nationals. Pelfrey and Niese both have to improve upon last season in order for the Mets to be competitive and certainly giving up 6+ a piece in these last 2 games is a regression. This Mets rotation has got me really worried. I can't decide whether I am happy going home with a 3-3 record. I think part of me thought we could swipe 2 from the Phillies. At least were not Red Sox fans right now.

Song OF The Day: Jane's Addiction - Three Days

Although not their most known or commercial friendly song this is certainly Janes Addictions' most grandeur and epic song. Dave Navarro's riffs soar and explode off the strings of his guitar during the many solo tangents that he goes off on. The song is about a sex & drug filled haze that singer Perry Farrell shared with his girlfriend and Xiola Blue who was in LA for her fathers funeral. It takes a few minutes for the song to get going so skip ahead if you get bored.

Cowboys thinking of drafting Mike Pouncey?

I just read on ESPNDALLAS.COM that Florida Gators C/G Mike Pouncey, the brother of the rookie All-Pro center Maurkice, tweeted that he expects to be in a Cowboys uniform next season after having an official visit with the team.
Mike Pouncey expects to be drafted by the Cowboys

I think that any team would be happy to have an offensive lineman coming from that gene pool...Maurkice was exceptional this year for the Steelers...one of the best rookie linemen I've seen but a center or guard is not sexy enough for Jerry Jones and not as pressing a need for the Cowboys as lets say right tackle or the defensive line or secondary. I would be surprised and a little disappointed if the Cowboys used their #9 pick on a center.
