Mets bring the timber but Big Pelf falls

The Mets pitching must have forgotten that Roy Halladay is the Phillies starting pitcher tomorrow because they stunk up the joint tonight, pitching as if it didn't matter. Tonight was the night to pounce on Philadelphia. Pelfrey was atrocious. His pitches were flat, batting-practice like, and the Philadelphia bats teed off on him...knocking him up with 7 babies. Pelfrey's early season woes are certainly a cause for concern moving forward.
Disgrace

The Mets bullpen was no better. Taylor Bucholz, who came on in relief of Pelfrey in the 3rd wasn't charged with any runs but allowed 3 inherited runners to score. After the Mets staged a ferocious comeback in the 5th, Blane Boyer (the pitcher the Mets chose instead of Jason Isringhausen...cough cough) quickly gave up the lead, allowing the Phillies to score 2 in the 5th and another in the 6th.

It was encouraging to see the Mets never give up even when down 7 runs. Their bats came to play and I think it is evident that this team is going to be able to hit this year but all of the arms on the rotation and bullpen are serious question marks. I don't like what I see from Pelfrey and Boyer and Buchholz weren't too encouraging either.
